Classes

A typical class will start with a short settling in practice, some gentle limbering movements to warm up the body, an asana practice, followed by pranayama (breathing practice) and guided relaxation to finish. Yoga Philosophy is integrated throughout.

If you have an injury or medical condition contact me to discuss your needs. In most cases I will be able to make the relevant modifications for you so that you can practice safely and comfortably.

Payment for classes can be made via cash in person, bank transfer or PayPal. Details to be provided upon class registration.

Slow Mindful Yoga

Emphasis is placed on rhythmic deep breathing with slow mindful movement to connect, the body breath and mind in the present moment. Think meditation in motion! You will be encouraged to practice slowing down and moving with more awareness, balance and grace. A greater degree of focus will be placed on relaxation. This yoga practice will give you an opportunity to disconnect from your everyday stresses and pressures by literally slowing down the body and with time the mind to be more present in the moment.

Suitable for all levels of experience.

Gentle Movers – Chair Based Yoga

This is a gentle yoga practice primarily done whilst seated in a chair, but it also includes standing asana where a chair is used as a prop to support the body to do strength and balancing movements in a different way. Chair Yoga is suitable for Every Body, but it would be of particular benefit to you if you no longer can or want practice yoga on a mat, for example due to ageing, illness, injury, limited mobility or a disability. You will be offered alternative options to adapt the movements, so that it feels good and benefits your unique body. Movement is linked to the breath throughout the class to encourage a mindful practice. The class will end with a guided breathing practice, known as Pranayama in Sanskrit.

This form of yoga offers many benefits:

* may improve mobility, flexibility, balance and strength – great for fall prevention!
* it is low impact on the joints
* it improves circulation
* may help with pain management
* may ease the symptoms of anxiety and depression
* it may help reduce stress
* it may help to lower blood pressure
* it offers an opportunity for social interaction
* it may improve emotional and physical wellbeing

Wednesdays

7:15pm – 8:30pm

Gentle Hatha Slow Flow

You will be guided to move your body slowly and deliberately into different asanas that challenge your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness by placing emphasis on controlled breathing. You will be offered different asana options so that you can move at your own pace. In other words, by listening to your body on the day you can decide whether you want to practice more gently or whether you want a stronger practice. This class has an extended pranayama and guided relaxation practice.

This class may not be suitable for you if you are looking for a strong yoga practice and/or you want a fast and dynamic class, so that you feel like you’ve ‘worked out’.

Special Events, Workshops And Retreats

I ALLOW MYSELF TO BLOSSOM SPECIAL EXTENDED PRACTICE

Sunday 29th March 2026

3:30pm – 6:30pm

I am delighted to share another beautiful offering with you… The purpose of this practice will be to unwind the mind and rejuvenate the body, whilst embodying the wise words of Oprah Winfrey – “You are built not to shrink down to less but to blossom into more.”

We will start the afternoon with an hour of mindful crafting inspired by neurographic watercolour art. This therapeutic art form created by Dr Pavel Piskarev, uses freeform “neuro lines” to bridge the conscious and unconscious mind. This meditative technique can help reduce anxiety, stress, and chronic pain by reshaping thought patterns through artistic, mindful activity.

We will then move to our yoga mats to engage in a nourishing and cosy Restorative Yoga Practice. This style of yoga “restores” the body to its parasympathetic nervous system function, which in turn helps you rest, heal and restore balance. By allowing more time in each asana (posture) and deeper breathing, restorative yoga helps elicit the relaxation response. This response can help slow breathing, reduce blood pressure and produce a feeling of calm and increased well-being. A key feature of restorative yoga is the use of lots of props like blankets, pillows (bolsters) and blocks. The props help you hold passive asanas for longer without exerting or tiring your muscles. It also allows you to feel comfortable and supported, regardless of your experience with yoga. Ultimately allowing you to release tension.

This part of the practice will also include a calming Pranayama (breathing practice), encouraging the body to rest.

We will finish with a deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra Practice. Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep. It is an ancient technique where you enter deep states of conscious relaxation. It is a systematic practice of moving awareness from our external world to the inner world. It brings us to a state of deep sleep where our senses, and mind relax. We become free from the concepts of time, space and reason.

Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga Classes

  • Pregnancy yoga is suitable following your 12-week scan and subject to clearance from your GP or midwife.

  • Postnatal Yoga (6 weeks plus post birth)

  • Baby and Me Yoga (6 weeks plus post birth until baby starts crawling)

Yoga In The Workplace

Employee wellbeing has never been more important! Yoga is a wonderful way to support the mental and physical health of your staff. A regular yoga practice may prevent burnout, reduce stress and anxiety, lead to increased morale, focus and productivity.
